Drywaller here. I've had mine on my belt 8 months now and it still flips smooth as day one. Stopped carrying a separate scraper completely. Worth every penny.

Was skeptical about the flip mechanism - figured it'd jam after a month. Wrong. Use it daily on repaints. Troublesome sticky labels no longer laugh at my frustrations.

Bought it for my dad for Father's Day. He's been a GC for 30 years and said it's the first new utility knife he's actually excited about. Calls it his 'fidget tool.' Lol.

The Venator Commerce Toughbuilt 2-in-1 is a press-and-flip retractable utility knife that converts to a locked scraper in under a second - plus a built-in pry-tab for paint-can lids. Three jobs, one tool, one belt slot.

Built from a triple-injected rubberized alloy-zinc body with a hardened steel blade. Comes with 5 trapezoidal blades. Press the thumb switch once to extend the blade, press again to rotate it 90° into scraper mode. Lock is positive - no wobble, no slip.

Knife mode: Slide thumb switch on top to extend blade. Cut as normal.

Scraper mode: One press of the front thumb button - the blade rotates 90° and locks perpendicular. Drag the flat of the blade across paint drips, stickers, dried glue, caulk lines, or window decals.

Pry mode: Use the metal tab at the rear of the handle to pop paint-can lids (light prying - not for nails).

Blade change: Standard slide-out mechanism. Replacement blades are ~33¢ each (30 for under $10) - same price as Milwaukee or DeWalt, and the blades fit standard utility knives too.

Tool dimensions: 6" handle · 2.2" steel blade

Body: Triple-injected rubberized alloy-zinc construction with hardened steel blade

Modes: Retractable utility knife · Flip-out scraper · Paint-can pry tab

Carry: Tether loop at rear · Fits standard utility-knife pouches

In the box: 1× Toughbuilt 2-in-1 tool · 5× trapezoidal blades · Lifetime warranty card

Free shipping on every order. Dispatched within 3 business days.

Lifetime warranty backed by Venator Commerce - if the mechanism fails, one phone call gets it replaced. No questions, no fine print.

30-day returns - if it's not the tool you expected, send it back for a full refund.

What Customers Say

Real reviews from verified buyers
Tony S. - Painter
I used to go through 4 blades a day because I'd scrape paint with the cutting edge. Now I go through one. The flip-to-scraper is the real deal - flat side hits the surface, blade edge stays sharp.I go through one blade now instead of four
Mike H. - Electrician
Five trips down the ladder a day to find the scraper. Now zero. One thumb press and I'm scraping over-spray off a junction box without putting my knife down.Five trips down the ladder. Now: zero.
Carlos D. - GC
Heavy in the hand in a good way. Alloy body, not plastic garbage. Rubberized grip doesn't slip when my hands are sweaty or covered in joint compound. This feels engineered, not assembled.Feels engineered, not assembled

Look - I own three Milwaukees and a couple of Stanleys. This one's different. , and the scraper edge is actually sharp enough to do work. The mechanism is tight, the lock-in is positive
Steve M. - Drywaller
Dropped it from a scaffold twice, dragged it through mud, left it in the truck through a Michigan winter. Zero issues. Lifetime warranty means I'll never replace it anyway. Two years in. Still flips smooth.
Aaron B. - Finish Carpenter
Buddy of mine had his replaced under warranty - one phone call, new tool in the mail. Can't say that about my Stanley. This is the one that stays in the pouch.

3-In-1 Pro Jobsite Tool

One Thumb Press. Knife Becomes Scraper. Without Setting It Down.

Stop climbing off the ladder to find the scraper. Stop dulling blades you'll throw out tomorrow. The Toughbuilt 2-in-1 flips from utility knife to locked scraper in one motion - and pops paint can lids on the way back to the truck.

The Tool-Switching Tax

You Own Five Utility Knives. You Still Walk To The Truck For The Scraper.

Every tradesman pays this tax. You're 15 feet up on a ladder cutting drywall paper. You see a paint drip on the trim. You set the knife down on the rung, climb down, walk to the truck, dig for the 5-in-1, climb back up - and by then you've lost your place. Multiply that by 5 trips a day, 5 days a week.

  • 7:00 AM Pull the utility knife. Open boxes, cut Romex sheathing, score caulk lines.
  • 10:30 AM Paint drip on the trim. Set the knife down. Walk to the truck. Find the scraper.
  • 2:15 PM Use the knife blade flat to scrape sticker residue. Dull the blade. Change it. Throw it out.
  • 4:45 PM Need to pop a paint can. The 5-in-1 is back at the truck again.

I have like 5 utility knives and I still can't find one when I need to scrape. Then I use the knife blade flat and dull it. I just change blades more often. That's the job.

The Mechanism

Press. Flip. Scrape. One Hand. Three Seconds.

The patented pivot is spring-loaded steel - not a hinge that loosens, not a gimmick that jams. Here's exactly what happens when your thumb hits the button.

Step 01 Toughbuilt 2-in-1 in utility knife mode with blade extended

Knife Mode

Slide the thumb switch. Cut anything in your way.

Standard retractable utility knife. Slide the switch on top, the 2.2" steel blade extends and locks. Drywall paper, Romex sheathing, packaging, carpet, plastic strapping - same cuts you make 40 times a day.

Used 15-40× Per Day
Step 02 The flip mechanism mid-rotation, blade pivoting to perpendicular

The Flip

One thumb press. Blade rotates 90° and locks.

Press the button at the business end. Spring-loaded steel pivot rotates the blade through 90 degrees and locks it perpendicular to the handle. No wobble. No play. No setting the knife down. This is the patented mechanism - and it's covered for life.

Limited Lifetime Warranty
Step 03 Toughbuilt 2-in-1 in scraper mode removing dried paint

Scraper Mode

The flat blade does the work. Your cutting edge stays sharp.

The blade is now perpendicular - flat side down. Drag it across paint drips, dried adhesive, decals on glass, caulk lines, label residue. The cutting edge never touches the surface, so it doesn't dull. Press again to flip back.

Engineered, Not Assembled

Built Like A Pro Tool. Because It Is.

Four details that separate a $60 jobsite tool from a $20 plastic knockoff. Look close.

01 Macro shot of the patented steel pivot mechanism

Patented Spring-Loaded Steel Pivot

The flip mechanism isn't a hinge. It's a spring-tensioned steel pivot rated for tens of thousands of cycles. No plastic gears. No wobble after six months.

Mechanism: Steel, Patented
02 Macro shot of the triple-injected rubber grip texture

Triple-Injected Rubber Grip

Three rubber compounds molded into one handle. Holds when your hands are sweaty, greasy, or gloved. Doesn't slip on Romex sheath cuts or scraping a wet paint drip.

Grip: Three Compounds
03 Macro shot of the alloy body construction

Aluminum/Zinc Alloy Body. Steel Blade.

Spec sheet: 58% aluminum/zinc alloy chassis, 27% hardened steel components. Not stamped plastic. Drops from a ladder don't crack it.

Body: 58% Alloy / 27% Steel
04 Macro shot of the integrated finger guard and lanyard hole

Finger Guard + Lanyard Tether

Integrated finger guard keeps your thumb off the blade when you're scraping. Lanyard hole at the back means you can tether it on a ladder, scaffold, or boom lift. No more "where'd my knife go."

Safety: Guarded + Tethered
